Alias Community Guidelines
Alias’ mission is to enable safe and authentic expression within our diverse community of thinkers, cultures, ages and belief systems. We encourage different points of view as they foster an engaged and open environment for everyone to create, share and connect. Our Community Guidelines provide the rules of the road and are designed to keep our community welcoming.
• Privacy – Alias is devoted to building a pseudonymous community protective of users’ privacy and their digital identity. Don’t disclose any identifying information on Alias, and do not engage in misleading or deceptive behavior such as impersonating another individual. Doxxing or otherwise revealing someone’s personal or confidential information is not allowed.
• Violence – Alias prohibits credible threats of violence and content that contains or incites violence against another person or entity. Alias further prohibits harassment or content that encourages coordinated harassment. You may not promote or encourage suicide or self–harm.
• Hateful Behavior –You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.
• Unlawful Content – Do not solicit or facilitate criminal activities or unlawful behaviors, or post unlawful content including defamation, blackmail, extortion or intellectual property infringement. Do not post or encourage the posting of sexual, suggestive or exploitive content involving minors. We report child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and supporting evidence to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to any additional relevant legal authorities.
• No cheating – Do not engage in content manipulation (including manipulation of reputation scoring), brigading, fake engagement, uploading viruses or other malicious code, post spam, use bots or otherwise interfere with Alias’ operation of the platform.
• Enforcement – We believe that the content you engage with should be determined by you, and removing and/or banning content is a last resort for Alias. If you believe, however, that posted content violates any of our guidelines (more fully described in our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy), please report it by flagging it in app and our team will address violative content. We proactively enforce our Community Guidelines using technology, human moderation and input from our community members. Our algorithms are designed to facilitate moderation and may reduce discoverability of some content or make videos ineligible for recommendation in your “For You” feed. Content or behavior which may otherwise violate our Community Guidelines may not be subject to enforcement if we believe there is a legitimate public interest in its availability.
